Adopt-a-Family - sponsored by the Women`s Shelter & Support Services, is a program to support local families at this time of year. We would like to help 2 mothers, with two children each, celebrate this Christmas season. If you feel moved to support this endeavor, a list of possible items, and more information is posted in the parlour, or call the office. If you participate in the program please have your donations to the church no later than Sunday, December 4th.

Friday, December 9 – The youth are inviting the congregation to join them at Miramichi Lodge at 6:15pm for an evening of caroling. I encourage both young and old to attend this event. Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided to everyone following the caroling.

Wesley Church Council has approved the participation of our church in the United Church PAR (Pre Authorized Remittance) Program. This is a means of pre-authorized withdrawals from your chequing account for deposit into the church’s account. If you wish to participate please complete a remittance form and leave it with the treasurers or on the offering plate.

The Adult Fellowship Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 3rd in the Fellowship Hall at 6pm. Fun and fellowship. Old fashioned sing-a-long. Catered dinner - $16.00 per person. Cut off date for tickets is November 27th. Tickets may be purchased from the office.

The Christmas Charity Bazaar at the Mall will be held on December 3rd. Wesley will be having 2 tables; everyone can contribute. Please donate knitting, crafts, baking etc. Proceeds will be designated for the roof. Contact the office if you would like to participate.

WOW & UCW: Reserve Tuesday, December 13th for our combined Christmas dinner in the Fellowship Hall at 6pm, catered by Kathryn Cowell. Tickets $15; available by calling the office. Instead of the gift exchange donations for the Food Banks are being accepted. Or, the UCW will pass around an envelope that evening for those who wish to make a donation to the Gifts With Vision campaign of the United Church. The money donated will purchase an item from the Gifts with Vision catalog which includes items like school supplies for Haitian children, etc.

Saturday, December 10 – A craft day will be held for the children. They will be making Christmas presents for their parents. This will take place from 1:00pm to 2:30pm in the junior classroom. Please RVSP to the church office by Thursday, December 8th.

If your group/committee needs to use an area of the church please contact the office to check availability. Many areas of the church are being rented out to various community groups. Please confirm the area, time, and date your group requires with our secretary.

| Poinsettia Fundraiser |

Poinsettias – The youth in our church are selling Christmas poinsettias again this year. The cost is $15.00 which includes the cost of the plant and dedication “in memory of” or “in honour of” that will be printed in the bulletin on Christmas Eve. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the roof fund. Please sign up on the sheet on the table outside the parlour or call the church office.

Sunday, December 11 – Emerging Spirit Gathering will be taking place with the families from Wesley & Calvin again. We will meet at 3:00pm to make gingerbread churches, followed by a time of worship and then a turkey dinner. The cost is $10.00 per family. Please RVSP to the church office by December 8th.

| Children`s Christmas Pageant |

Sunday, December 18 - Once again, the children from Sunday school will be presenting their Annual Christmas play after the 10am worship service followed by a chili luncheon. All proceeds from this event will go to Sunday schools two mission projects. A food drive will also be taking place on this day.

Fair Trade Coffee Orders - There have been requests for fair trade goods (coffee, tea, hot chocolate). If you would like to order some, the next order deadline is Tuesday, December 6th. Coffee is about $35 for 5 lbs. See the price lists on the bulletin board by the parlour or call the office. Please submit your order form with payment to Rev. Suzanne at the office.
